Spare motor build: 5.4 2v or NPI bottom end?

then why wouldnt you just buy a used motor and drop it in??? you'll never rebuild a 4.6 the right way for 600.00. machine work alone will break the 600.00 dollar mark. im rebuilding a 3.8 for my firebird right now and the best price ive got for hot tanking the block, checking it for cracks, boring , line honing, freeze plugs, checking the main bearings for alighnment, checking the crank and checking the pistons is 725.00. and rebuilding the heads and a 3 angle valve job is another 175.00. on top of all that the bearings, rings, oil pump and gaskets is another 1000.00. im not trying to dog on you but what your saying just doesnt make any sence.

this engine is getting rebuilt back to stock except for the cams and some headers, and im going to port the heads in class. but find out what he would want for the headers.

Thats basically what im doing.... nobody ever said I was going to get a bare block and build off of it. YOU ALL started mentioning that. If it was worth it for a teksid that would be the only block up building I would do.

no..im going to use 2v heads.... it doesnt matter what the block comes with they are all the same fit

youre the one who mentioned buying a bare teksid block and then building
plus, did you even read my list of **** i posted? that is all stuff you need regardless...you said you didnt want to half *** it, which means not reusing timing components, head/engine gaskets, and un-machined block
i think you started this thread without knowing **** about what youre doing, and now that people are telling you the truth about it not going to happen for $600, you are getting defensive
im gonna go delete my other post that layed out what you need and prices, because quite frankly, i hope you continue to be an ******* to everyone and nobody helps you out...then in a few months we can read your post about how you started a rebuild and blew your budget with only 10% of it done

yeah i just re read it, they bought a short block, and swapped on some 4v heads and bought the rest of the parts to build a 4v. but they also give you a list of everything you need to do a 2v to 4v swap.

For christ's sake let the man do what he wants, stop being so damn subjective. Half of you have done nothing short of feed him all the information he doesn't want.....and suggest all the things hes already stated he doesn't want to do. Hes already made his decision, he doesn't need help deciding what he wants and what his goals are. Give relevant information or don't say anything at all and move on......pretty sad when I have to come out of my lurking habits to say this.
His original post was very clear and easy to understand and not unreasonable, he didnt put a 600 dollar figure out, you did. I hope you cease to post on this thread ever again. And Jrherald too for that matter.
