Default Chrome or Paint Wheels?

I have 17x9 Cobra-R rims. The guy who had it before me got them chromed. Well now the chrome is peeling off and looks like crap. I like the chrome look, but I have also thought about painting them black.

So my question is - if I wanted them re-chromed how much am I looking at? Or if I want them painted can I do it myself and what kind of paint would I use?

I don't know how much it is to chrome them. However whatever you do, DONT paint them black. All black wheels without a polished lip looks like *** on a red car.

I am not sure how much it would cost to chrome them either.

If you are trying to do this on a budget, I would chip / sand the chrome off and paint them yourself. I don't think I would go with black either...personally, I would go with either white or silver. If you are going to paint them, pay some extra attention to prepping them or you will have the same problem you are having now with the chrome flaking off. There are a couple of wheel painting write-ups floating around here somewhere.

If budget is not an issue for you, I would look into getting a new set of wheels all together.
