Agreed, OP.... You could buy a FULLY Built Rear end for that Price... (he wouldnt have to fix anything of yours.. Thats all new Top of the line stuff for under 1100. Also, if he thinks that mustangs come with 3.73 he doenst work on alot of stangs.

What hockey game? I've been a devout carolina hurricanes fan for about 8 years now. Watch every game and I go to many games here in Raleigh. <3 the NHL. Was a real thriller last night to shut down boston in game 7 overtime. We arent called the Cardiac Canes for nothin.

actually what all you are missing is that the housing itself is what was damaged in all the mishap and it is what is causing the high price. To get a new axle housing is just as expensive as machining the old one, but more reliable IMO. i honestly wouldn't trust having the original machined, but thats just me.

OP, ask specifically what was damged in the rearend/housing, and ask for a breakdown of the prices/parts list for things. My dad was quoted 1100$ here in ohio for a complete rebuild of the the rear as well(in his f150-same rear), but that included a new differential, ring&pinion, bearing kit, etc etc.

Just my 2cents
