Talking SO get this...

Hey all,
Just wanted to share a little story that lead to a disaster but had a happy ending! So my 04 GT was making a little humming noise out of the rear-end for the past month er so. i had one of my buddies take a look at it and said u might just need some gear fluid. I said ok so i was going to go get the levels looked at on a Saturday this past month and as I'm on my way to work Friday morning the rear-end completely BLEW. On a major highway none the less.

So i get it towed i take it to the best mechanic I know around here for Mustangs, he takes the thing a part i get a call saying yeah, you had absolutely no fluid in the back, your gears are gone the bearings and gaskets and the whole ShaBang. Sweet. To top it off he tell me i had 3.27 gears in there not the standard 3.73. So he says whaddya wanna do? I said what hell put the 4.10's in there!

So $1100.00 dollars later for a completely re finished/ re built rear end and 4.10 gears coming this Monday i don't know what to expect!

Anybody have the 4.10's? or does any one know what I should expect when i step on the gas for the first time Monday with the 4.10's?

Lots of guys have here have 4.10's. I am pretty sure though that 3.27's are the stock gear...typical upgrades are 3.55's, 3.73's, or 4.10's.

Do you have a way to correct the speedo? A handheld tuner can do it.

You say you're from CT? Damn, who is this Mustang mechanic?

And I would have done it for $500.
