Default swap x-pipe with h-pipe to rid raspy sound?

I am sure lots of you have experienced the raspy sound you get when going to a o/r pipe. My buddy suggested swapping the o/r x with a o/r h. Have any of you done this with success? I just want to know if it is worth the money trying the swap because I am ready to put a catted midpipe back on. I am getting tired of the raspy sound but I hate to lose the loudness. With cats I could hardly hear the exhuast.

In my experience an o/r h is more raspy than a o/r x with a straight through style muffler.

The h is deeper, but had more snap, crackle, and pop.

Being that you have a side exhaust, it may react differently.

ive got an h with flows and it is very deep and loud. no rasp like i had with the x. but it all also depends what mufflers you are running.

rasp is the ****ty rattle sound. Its hard to explain. Rasp is the only word i think describes it I guess. I just know its the sound I didnt have when I had cats.

i have Magnaflow exhaust. Magnaflow makes the side exhaust for Roush. I think I am just going to put a catted pipe back on it. I think I will put a catted H on it though instead of the X. I want it deeper and I think the H will be deeper than the X. Am I wrong in my assumption?

are you saying I will loose some rwhp/rwtq by going with the H? I could put a catted x back on it. I had a bbk catted x and it wasnt loud enough I guess i have to decide on loud/raspy or quieter/clean.

yep you most likley will see a power loss, but not enough to notice a difference while driving. i myself prefer loud and annoying. the rwtq will be about the same or a little hight. x more power less torque. vive versa with h
