Better off swapping in a used PI motor

What if i went with some comp cams, took my heads out ported and polished them and did some other stuffwith them and stuck them back in, I think that would be alot easier than redoing it for minimal horsepower gains?

Just get a stock PI intake and some Patriot stage 2 heads and the cams of your choice. Then you will have more power than a regular PI swap.

These are more than minimal gains that we're talking here too.

see thats more what im looking at cause I mean so much work to take heads of and more money then to just buy some upgraded heads and cams, thats what ill end up doing!

so i would need the 11 bolt valve covers what else for those heads?

Well if you can find some used PI on ebay or something then a regular PI swap would be cheaper.

Patriots run about $1400 and then cams run about $600, new stock PI intake is like $130 or so. While your in there you might as well rebuild your timing set up (chains, tensioners, etc.) sooo, your looking at around $2500 or so just for materials. Can you do the swap yourself?

If you get Romeo heads then you can use your stock valve covers. If you get Windsor heads then you'll have to get new ones.

Does it tell you the year of the heads? 99-00 were Windsors and 01-04 were the Romeos. It doesn't really matter what year they are, worst case scenario is that you would have to buy new valve covers.

But I agree with your motto, do it once, do it right.
