really? idk **** about trucks..how does it compare to the lightning (only fast truck i know next to the srt ram)
Blows them away! Turbo Diesels can be crazy fast.... There is a video somewhere of a 10 second Dodge Cummins and a 7 second Duramax Stock, they run low 15's to high 14's and with a touch of a button push hard into the 13's!

This was a really good article in 5.0 magazine's latest issue.
They had a stock 1999 Mustang GT auto with some miles on it, and it put down 200HP 243TQ to the wheels bone stock. Pretty weak huh?? Those automatics really do rob power.

After the modifications it was putting down nearly 25 more horsepower.

Read through the whole article, its pretty informative
Its pretty amazing how much HP pulleys can make too.

Out of all the upgrades that they covered in this article, it appeared that the tuner gave the least gain. Pretty disappointing, I thought it would put down more power especially with the other mods.

Thanks a lot! I also heard that a good torque converter is all you really need to make these cars go lol. Did you ever run it stock?

the track was brand new, they just built it and i got sumitomos, so im thinkin it should be like a low to mid 13 second car

I didn't realize we dyno'd that low. I read an article in one of the mustang mags a few years ago (sorry I don't remember which one) but with B&M shift kit and something else they did to the tranny (again sorry) they picked up about 9 rwhp. They were not power adders but they allowed more hp to be transfered through the drivetrain. I will google and see if I can find the article.

I really don't think the whp matters so much in automatics because of the torque converter. While it may soak up a lot of torque, it also multiplies it... there are some very fast automatics out there

LT1 and LS series cars aren't as affected by parasitic automatic loss because those engines create so much more torque than our 4.6's.

Which pulleys are better BBK or Steeda? Would they work well with the mach 460 sound system or would I have an alternator amp current issue?
