99-04 were called New Edges when they came out. All the books call those years New Edges as well.

It's all a nickname man. for example.

87-93 Mustang= Fox Body
99-04 Mustang= New Edge
03 Cobra= Terminator

Any model Mustang = Stang

Come on man get a grip..

Infact, if you go to this websites classified "parts for sale" section, it lists 99-04 as "New Edge", and SN95 as 94-98.

ok back ontopic. i would also like to point out the s197s have a 31 spline rear stock and come with 3.55s? but the tranny gearing is different as well, also stock their internals can hold up to ~50whp more than new edges. And yes anything with more valves will have a better top end than its cubic stock equivelent with less valves.

3.55's were an option on the s197. But yea new edges usually dyno 220-230 stock and s197s dyno 265-27*.

i thought the reason they got more hp from the internals was because the better flowing flowing heads made more Power per PSI.

Holy **** @ "S195"....ugh

The S197 cars weighed maybe another 100 pounds more. They aren't that much heavier.
