Default engine swap help

i was looking at putting the new 3 valve motor in my 96 mustang gt or even a cobra or mach 1 motor in. i was just wandering the things that would not cross over such as i know the computer box will have to change in the vehicle due to diffrent data but do i need the wireing harness to change as well? what other things would have to be changed?
i am under the impression i can pull a 3 valve motor from the newer modles with its computer box and be fine....is this nieve of me?

3v motor will be very difficult with the digital throttle.

A cobra motor is your best bet.

the 3V will be fine, but I doubt you can keep the VVT (Variable valve timing) The Throttle body will have to be switched out for a cable design rather then electronic.

That bening said, HOSS is right the 4V motor will require less tweaking and make more power.

Not really.. the stock harness would work with little modification, and the stock computers its self would be fine, however a tune would be needed.

If you are going to spend the $$$ on a 4v why not just go with a built 4.6 2v or 5.4 - then it is just plug and play. You can make plenty of power with either.
