The 5.0 is a great motor. Stroke it to a 347 with some good heads and intake and cam and you will pretty much beat most of the GTs on the road lol.

man, thanks for all tha input guys! i was jus wandering cause im bout to put alot of $$$$ into my 00' gt inside n out. and before i jumped into which way to go w/my motor options, i was was just checkin around ! decisions decisions! do we love our cars or what! i dont put this much thinkin into tha girls i go out with!! lol!

i would go with the 5.0 hands down. if you want more power down the road, a big inch windsor is basically a bolt-in upgrade.

don't waste your time with a 2V.

lol at whoever put the PI 2V 4.6 over a 5.0. to each his own i guess.

The short answer is yes it is! It is a smaller and more efficient motor than the 5.0 with more hp! Which is why Ford made the change in the first place. But 5.0 is much cheaper to mod.

has anyone ever swapped out a 4.6l out of a 00' gt for a 5.0l from like a 95'? how much difference is there on the 5.0 gt and the 5.0 cobra motors btw? thanks for everybodies input! been a great help!
