Default Suspension Question- Alignment?

So i'll be installing some H&R SS springs with c/c plates on my Mach within the next couple of weeks. I'm definately going to be getting an alignment after lowering it, but i've heard mixed feelings on when to do this. Many people say to get one right away, as soon as possible after the installation, and this was what I was planning on doing. But I have heard from a couple of people lately that it would be better to wait a week or two in order to let the springs settle before getting an alignment. Is this true?

wait until the car is at it's permanent, or close to permanent ride height to get an alightment.

If the springs settle another .5", you would have accomplished very little by getting the alignment already.

honestly, you can do an alignment at your house if you have the cheap tools for free, instead of paying someone to do it for you.

If you can learn to tune your suspension, if you ever go to an Auto-X event, you'll be ahead of the game.

They shouldn't settle another .5". If you installed them right they should do most of the settling within the first 30 miles of driving. Make sure to take some turns too

I waited 2 or 3 weeks before I did mine. I'm at -1.5 camber right now w/o plates, after the alignment.

I've heard plenty of people say that their springs settled another .5" after a week or two.

Second of all, with Caster/Camber plates, he won't be at -1.5* of camber (which BTW is a SH*Tton) he should be at Zero negative or positive camber.

When I'm in RACE trim, I don't even run anything more than 1* of negative camber up front, or the rear

Drive on it for a while, but like everyone else said, wait until your springs settle. Give it a good 5-7 days before doing your final alignment. If you still feel like you're receiving mixed answers give H&R customer support a call. I'm sure they'll have a straightforward answer for you.

i waited a week. My springs settles a finger width a couple of days after i installed my SS springs. and then i got my alignment. I wouldnt do it right away. I paid belle tire 50.00 bucks to align my car. So i didnt want to have to pay them 2 times.

cool thanks for the responses. I'll probably give it a week or so of normal driving before getting it done
