Default which starter to buy?

I believe my starter is going out. Should I just pick one up at the local auto parts store or do you guys have a better recommendation? I read a article saying to get the power rating of the existing one or higher and to also change the solenoid if the car has higher mileage. Would higher starting power be better?

The auto parts starter should be fine... Sometimes when you start talking high compression, big cube engines the upgrade is necessary but I don't think this applies to you.

your starter's going out? I sometimes think mine needs replacing b/c it takes a few cranks sometimes to turn the engine over.

yeah when i started it yesterday it made the nasty slipping sound so im guessing it was the starter. I immediately shut it off and started it again but it didnt do it. Im guessing its the first signs of it going out. Damn place wants 277.00 for a reman one installed. I would try to do it but I cant get under the car. You know how it was just doing the fog light.

havent heard from you in a while. What have you been up to?

Yeah your car is low as hell.

We've been extremely busy here at work so i haven't had a lot of time to get on the forums. So other than the starter, how's your car doin?

Just get a High Torque PA Performance starter from 50resto.com, thats what i did. Put it on yourself for free. Took me like 20 minutes. I think it was $119 or less
