Default FloMaster Muffler Ideas

I'm just curious what you guys think about flomaster? Im looking at getting new mufflers. At one time I debated putting in a whole exhaust kit such as mag, flo, or steeda but that was roughly between $400-$600 compared to $180ish & for what I want... is just sound. Im leaning towars flomaster. Ideas or thoughts on the 40 Series Delta Flow and Super 44 Two Chamber Mufflers. Advice or different ideas welcome.

Flowmasters sound great! But every mustang owner and their brother have them. But if you dont care about that then go for them. they will be quite if you keep your stock midpipe. But if you want to be unique, pick something else. Everyone in my area has flowmasters, so thats why i didnt get them. Before i was into mustangs, I thought the Flowmaster sound was how a mustang sounded from factory, lol. Thats how played out they are in my area. But thats just my view on them.

I'm about to get a new exhaust system, and I was heavily considering a flowmaster system for a while. I started researching the Magnaflow Magnapack system and really began liking it. It looks like it will give me the sound I want with less drone. I think the a Flowmaster exhaust system and a Magnaflow exhaust system are very similar in price. So listen to some youtube videos and figure out which one you want.

I've owned the original 40 series and the super 44 series. The original 40 was definately deeper and louder than the super 44. However, this was on a 4.0 v6 with 3in inlet and dual 2.25 outlets. I had 3inch run from the down pipe back and it sounded like a v8-most people thought i had a 5.0 swap. What i can say is this, they make a good product, and if you find a decent exhasut shop they are well worth the money to have installed. The drone will depend LARGELY on how long the pipe is after the muffler as well as the size of it and the size of the tips you put on.

I personally do not feel chambered mufflers are nearly loud enough on a mustang for my tastes, but to each his own. Its a good sound quality, and many people like it.

+1 to the you tube concept, take a listen, as there is nearly every possible exhaust combo listed on there by now.

Good luck with your decision!

You need to ride in my car then. With the right setup chambered mufflers can be down right obnoxious..../beautiful

@OP: Skip Flows and go with MACs. I wish I had in the beginning. If you want super 44's go with an o/r x, they sound pretty nice in that setup. But if you plan on going with 40's, just get a pair of MACs instead. Been down the flowmaster road with 40's and 50's, and they just don't sound quite as good. I will say 40's DO sound good with an o/r h, just not as good as flowpaths
