Exclamation Need help bad!!!!!!!

Ok I took my car the track for the first time this year... I have brand new 315 nitto drag radials...To get to the point I spun like I was running street tires..I was doing a variety of different burnouts thinking that was the problem, but nope didnt help at all..The best 60 ft time all night was 2.1..That sucks. Any suspension mods or hell maybe some driving advice Im all ears..Im not really a noob a drag racing I have been drag racing for seven years or better...But not a pro by no means...Thanks for any advice in advance...

What psi were you running in the tires? - I would try somewhere between 15-18psi.
How high of rpm were you launching at? - Try launching around 25-3000 rpm.
Were you spraying it in 1st gear? - If it wouldn't hook in 1st, try spraying it in 2nd next time out.

You have to warm the holy hell out of the nittos to get them to stick right. I have to do a 2nd gear burn out for 10-15 sec's to get them to hook. I hate it. I run 16psi in them, don't go any lower becuase then you will wobby down the track like a duck.

I went through first then burned them in second for awhile. seemed like forever in burn out box... The car actually a few times broke loose when I shifted in second.. A guy at track told me to get rid of the nitto's, but most of my friends run the same tire.. They dont have any problems plus they dont even have 500 miles on them..Would like to get my moneys worth out of them.

Mine hook great at 18psi with a short 5-6 sec. burnout, and we're running similar hp numbers, but i have a 100 ft lbs more torque.

I pull 1.8-1.9 60ft. like this, but my nitrous doesn't kick in until 3k so that helps as well.

Are these like totally brand new? If so that could be part of the problem. Could also be the track! Hard to say! They should pull a 2.1 60ft. even without a burnout.

You have no suspension mods geared toward traction which is your biggest problem.

You can't just slam the gas and hope the tires stick you have to quickly roll into the gas. I cut 1.5 60' with exact same tires as you have. They are good tires you just need suspension and driver mods.

Biggest problem is they are low profile tires and that will hamper you trying to hook. They (Nitto's) are not the greatest D/R choice. Have you removed the front sway bar? What shocks/struts are you running?

Sounds like a poorly prepped track, how were the other cars coming out of the hole?
