You don't necessarily gain you free up but with the a/c compressor its not so much in the pulley because it has a clutch system in the pulley. For instance when you turn your a/c on the clutch engages the pulley with the compressor and when you turn it off the pulley is free spinning. The most gain of the whole thing is weight reduction. Although I have done this mod and I felt a decent gain, but my unit was starting to go haywire and the pulley was always on. It's a cheap free mod if you can live with out A/C.

Well if you take the belt off the a/c you take the belt off the whole motor, so yea it should run a little faster before it overheats then you crash because you got no brakes or steering

Seriously tho, A/C delete is kind of pointless. Like mineral just said the A/C pulley free spins when not on so as long as your AC is off its just basically another idler pulley

the tiny amount of gain you might see from it is not worth it to me. if you were completely ridding the car of the AC unit then yea the weight savings i could understand, but 1 hp is not worth sweating my ***** off in the summer.
