yep, 700ft lbs, which is where the 70 comes from

the one that comes in the Mach 1 is the 4R75W, which is rated at 750lb/ft of torque.

Either are quite stout, so they won't be going out on you any time soon.

Damn, that's a lot stronger than I thought. Another question, are those transmissions limited by a specific engine RPM (meaning can they break from 7k+rpm shifts)? Or is their only enemy heat?

from what I understand, it's just heat/torque that breaks em.

Since it works by using clutches and not bands/gears, it's a little bit more durable

that doesn't mean that the clutches won't wear out after a while, but you won't be cracking anything

The 4r70W is the only transmission available in the Lincoln Mark VIII, which is a 4V motor. Plus I have seen those guys go with a blower on the stock tranny. Be safe and get a bigger tranny cooler, but it will last

That's because the Fox uses the craptacular AODE transmission.

Fox used the AOD, AODE was used in the 94-95 mustang, and 4R70W/4R75W used in 96-04

And i think for the torque ratings, you have to take in account the multiplied torque by the torque converter, so I don't think it will handle 700 ft-lbs from the engine alone.
