what would cause the govoner on my GT to kick in @ 125mph??

i usually dont go that fast i just want the issue solved. you know just in case haha

I believe it had to do with the tires that were put on the car from the factory.

Ive heard that some cars are set at 155mph and others are lower.

But I don't know if thats true or not, mine was set at 155mph.

but i swear i've had my car up to at least 135. i dont know whats wrong.

you have a tuner? your speed sensor could be screwed up to, who knows, is your spedo still accurate?

yeah my speedo is still accurate. no i dont have a tuner yet. thats the first thing im buying for my car

Probably something to do with the tires. Check to see if the original's were Z rated. Mine has Z rated recommended on the sitcker in the glove box and I have had it to 125MPH without issue.

could it be a computer issue? im completely stumped. i dont know what would cause the govoner to drop. i really wanna take it to ford, but for some reason that sounds so stupid when i say it out loud

the tires from the factory we 245/45 17 with Z rated tires...now im lost.

usually i wouldnt care, but its the fact thats there is something wrong with my car

If you get a tuner, the problem will be solved. I'm pretty sure you can set a limiter or completely remove the speed limiter with a tuner.


BTW, it's probably OBAMA telling you to slow down. Next thing you know, he's gonna take away all our Mustangs and replace them with 4cylinder economy cars!
