need advice!
ok i got an 01 gt, and like everyone else i want to build it to go faster. well after doing some math i figured i should ditch the gt and go 03-04 cobra. the price difference tells me i should have spent the money and got a cobra from the get go. $8k for gt + $4k for turbo kit + about $1k for the other stuff to make it work+($***.** tune+ $1500 engine build= $14k to $16k + roughly 500 to 600 hp gt, and thats doing everything myself and sourcing parts through some "hookups". and im still lacking after all the hard work OR $17k 03-04 cobra w/90k miles that allready has a dyno of 405hp and whatever tq (i forgot) stock except exhaust. cobra +a 150 shot andmaybe some more boost will be about the same as intended gt but less hassle. i know its kinda of a rant . but it sems to make sense to me.
what do u guys think? am i on the right path
aside from prices im looking to get a 4v intead of dealing with a 2v plus irs ( i love the irs) and its a cobra! seems like a better investment in the long run.

90k on the Cobra? As long as you're not stretching your budget to make it happen because you're going to start seeing things break within a year. Cobra parts still carry a bit of a premium.
I personally would have more fun in a turbo GT. No one expects it, it sounds cooler and you'd know every last bolt in the engine when you're done. However, when you're done, it's still a 2V...

sounds very covincing! Personally I wouldn't be able to spend that amount on a car, although I would if i could, bu school is my main priority!
Go for it I'd say. 03 cobra's ar GORGEOUS! you can say that again haha
And the forged internals unlike the 2V!!

True, but at 90k miles, who knows what the previous owner did to it or how terrible he took care of it. Regardless, any car after 100k miles, especially a blown one, is going to start requiring more than just preventative maintenance. I didn't say it was going to fall apart on him, but if he's stretching numbers to afford that car (which he didn't say he was doing but a lot of people do so it's a legitimate comment) then he's going to run into some possibly expensive issues down the road.
