Default 4.6L engine ?'s

Im needing some help building my engine up. I really have no idea what i need to do or order parts wise. The reason im asking is because i have a procharger running 12lb of boost on a stock 4.6 motor and everyone i have talked to is telling me I need to build the engine because there worried ill blow the bottom end out of it. i would greatly appreciate the help

yep 12 lbs is pushing it, i'd go 10 tops on a stock bottom end or a forged bottom end and ~15 lbs.

yea thats what i was thinking i ordered a 10lb from procharger last week just waiting on it to get here.I was told it would cut it from 12psi to about 8psi.

Is it a npi 4.6 or a pi motor? 12psi on a npi motor would probably be ok intercooled because your most likely not making as much power as a pi motor on 12psi.

i have now idea. all i know is that its a stock 4.6l out of a 98gt. I have only had the car for 2 weeks the guy i got it from did everything half *** and i am having to go back and get everything fixed

It probably is still a npi setup, if it's intercooled 12psi will still probably be under the safe limit on hp if its got a good tune. I'd get it tuned and see where its at and go from there.

do yourself a favor and buy a forged shortblock from d.s.s racing or a company like that, youll save a little bit of cash going with one of there engines than rebuilding it yourself between parts and machine work.
