You are misunderstanding, please don't tell me to go *** myself, my face gets hot. I was comparing how quik says because somewhere a stock notch ran a 13, foxes are faster than new edges...

Also to give thought to the cause, Just cause a vehicle is a newer version or a supposly improved version of the later one doesnt necessary mean its a better performing product.
Look at the basics. In the 80s[79 for the smartasses] when the foxes were designed the luxurys of them were next to nothing. Todays vehicles have alot more weight in them. More wiring, air bags and sound dampening. This all adds to a heavier vehicle. The NE motor was what 285 at its best year? a fox was 225, 60hp isnt that much of a difference when you consider youre adding close to 500lbs of weight. 500lbs is a good .5 in et difference. What was torque of the NE motor? Pushrod 302 was 300lbft.
This arguement has been going on for years, There has been alot of notches and even LX hatchs running into the 13s. It comes down to driver and track conditions really. Most ppl have the slightest clue on how to drive a vehicle down the 1320, they all try and sit gangsta.
But who really cares about 13s stock? 13s from a stock vehicle was impressive over a decade ago. Stock vehicles are into the 11s today, quit living in the past

it wouldnt be that bad....4.10s with 26 inch tire should be about 2500 rpms @70
4.88 would be about 3k, 5.56 would be about 3400 @ 70
but this is assuming you have the o/d ratio of .67, if you had a 6 speed with a .5 ratio, you could run 5.56 gears and only be at 2500 rpms @ 70, crazy isnt it?
As far as running the 1/4 mile, the 4.56/4.88 gear wouldnt really be a bad gear for a n/a 99-04 GT
You want to be crossing the line @ redline, that is the optimal gear so with a 4.88 gear and a 28 inch tall tire, you could be trapping 102 mph @ 6k so that would be a good setup for the track
but you would have to run 28 inch tire.
I would like to feel what its like to ride in a 4.56 geared auto gt compared to 3.73s, probably night and day

reread the slip!!!!!!! best was 13.3 @ 101. best mph was 102
ive been a member since 03, i havent posted much since i left the Stang world and been toying with GMs. You can find the mods
Car at the time had 355s, K&N drop in filter, BBK H Pipe, Flows dumped. Stock trans, stock shifter, stock replacement clutch, stock suspension, Had saleen replicas 15x7 with worn QTPs. car had a 155k miles on it when it ran the times. stock timing at 10*
slipped clutch at 3500 NO LIFT SHIFTs at 4500.
There is no reason to lie about the car, nothing to prove from hiding things. I like the look of new edges but the weight of them vs the motor output is their downfall from the factory. Not saying the fox is the greatest car but it was a great platform to work off of. Quick, Light and good wheel base.
the Notch in question was 3100lbs with me in it and it was a stripper from the factory. a New Edge on the highway would destroy a fox, on the 1320 it comes down to driver.

in fact, i personally think youre all ****ing idiots for debating this...no car is consistant at every track.... track prep and DA are huge factors...two equal cars can run a second part at different tracks, but it doesnt make one slower than the other... hell you can lose a second by switching to a different track in another part of the country...line a PI 4.6 up with a bone stock 5.0 fox at the same track, same day, right next to each other, and the PI gt will win, hands down....but saying that "stock gts run 14.0, and foxes run 14.4" is stupid....atleast find real world slips and correct them for DA and then compare that, even though thats weak too
All this bitching is pissing me off.
