There is a moron on another board that keeps saying a stock 5.0 will take a stock NewEdge. total Moron. So I did a search and found this thread.

What were they smoking back in 2005? That Quik guy sure is an asshat. He hasn't posted since 2007, so I doubt he is with us anymore. Thank God.
Who would say in their right mind that a 99-04 is slower than a old 5.0?

There was a thread awhile back where someone was claiming something sort of plausible.
He simply said *again, in a different thread than that one* that an '87-'93 Notchback with DR's, and a swaybar removed is capable of mid 13's. That's based on the idea that there were 'several' instances of BONE STOCK Foxes touching bottom 14's@96-98mph
I suppose if you look at the power to weight ratio it's possible for bottom 14 second Fox bodies, but it's gotta be as common as the 13.6-13.8 New Edge Bullits/GT's

I actually remember that thread, it made me want to punch babies.
The guy makes it sound like you launch a 4.6 off the line at idle, and it bogs until 3K and by then, the 5.0 is already 10 cars in front.
It's frustrating when someone you're trying to debate with has NO grasp of what you're trying to say. Then you get all the little moblin buddies butting in and throwing out, "oh you're getting owned" and bull crap. lol
I dislike redass, but those morons were tools

Wow, good thread, way before my time here on MF. That Quik was pretty dumb, he made some good points, but would get OT, supposed to be talking stock vs stock, then say yeah but with gears or with suspension. Well that don't matter, we are talking stock vs stock...
