Default Off Roax Xpipe Check Engine light

I'm thinking of putting in a or x pipe on my 01 GT. my question is alot of the X pipes come with holes for the 02 sensors, so will it reach with the factory O2s and my CEL will not come on if i install the 02s? I was thinking about geting Mils. my friend put a or x on his 01 cobra and his CEL did not come on til about 3 mounts later.

Any other Input would be great. X pipe with straight pipes in place in muffler.

First of all don't assume an x pipe is more raspy than an h pipe. It's often times the opposite with straight through style mufflers like SLP 1's.

Weather it's an x or h, i would go catted with the SLP 1's. Off road pipes are going to sound like crap with these...really loud, but extremely raspy/poppy with no tone.

You will want to go catted on the pipe, I had to get rid of the 1's, that was a major ticket waiting to happen, plus it was just annoying to listen to, could only imagine what the other people around me thought. 2's with a o/r pipe sound real good though. You will want to youtube as much as possible. also, fyi, those vids do the sound no justice, they are soooo much louder in person. You will need mil's. You still can install the o2's, but you need them turned off or they will throw a code.

My '03 GT, previously owned by a 20-something Navy diver) came to me bone stock except for an o/r H-pipe and welded in Flowmaster 40s -- it was obnoxiously loud and advertising something that a stock GT was incapable of delivering.

Almost as silly as the fart-cannons kids stick on beat-up Honda Civics...

I'm running a UPR catted X-pipe, and a Magnaflow catback now--still attention getting, but much more fitting for a n/a 2V GT.
