Default 3.73s installed...

Hey guys, finally joined the "gear group" haha. I had some FRPP 3.73s installed and honestly...I was expecting more. I notice a ok gain in transfered power, but maybe I was expecting a bigger jump. I haven't really "driven" the car until the first 100 miles are over with. After that, i'll chime in and see what I think.

Also, I had a friend of mine drive next to me and it seems that my speedo is reading 5 mph faster than what I am going. Will a tuner or a new speedo gear fix that problem?

I own an Auto. I would have loved to go 4.10s, but rather keep my rpms low during highway speeds. Plus I plan on supercharging it later down the road.

Maybe a NICE tune will help my situation out, huh?

Yes a tuner will allow you to fix the speedo. Even with you getting a s/c down the road, 4.10s would have been better and you would have noticed more of a difference. Either way 3.73 is better than the stock gears.

+1...the 4.10's would not be too much gear at all, even with a blower. My buddy has 3.73's in his 5-speed Procharged 01 gt, and wishes he went with 4.10's.

the difference between 3.73s and 4.10s MIGHT be 1mpg.

and its harder to feel in an auto.

shoulda went 4.10s. I regret selling mine, i might have to go buy a new set if im not happy.

The procharger takes a little bit to spool up giving the 4.10s time to shine down low. If it was a roots type or another quick spooling blower, i dont think you would enjoy them without some fine tires.

man i went with 3.73s in my 96 gt manual, and to be honest im kinda disappointed, i was gonna go with 3.90s, but since im getting the heads, cams and blower installed i went with 3.73s, but if i was to keep it stock 4.10s all the way in my opinion,,,

but automatic 4.10s, 4.10s, 4.10s is the way to go
