I wouldnt buy any mustang over 100k miles. I can tell you this though, I had a 96 GT hardtop with a 5 spd and it had 80k miles. The car was very reliable and did ok in the snow lol. But it was a dog! 15.4 @ 92 mph is unacceptable for a v8 mustang. The suspension also creaked and skeaked and it started to burn oil so I sold it because it was slow and was slowly going to die. If you want a mustang that you will truly love, get a new edge 03-04 GT or any mustang with a DOHC 32v engine. Good luck!

It will be my 1st mustang. I don't need it to be the best. I want to be able to work on it to make it my own, but the consensus is that 160k is 2 much on the motor/tranny so I suppose I will look 4 another

I'd look for a 99-04. specifically 03-04 because the trannies seem to be better cus they worked some kinks out of the t3650's. But the added power and better looks make it worth it. You can find some of these cars with reasonable miles for 7-10k. Just something to look at and the reasoning for it.
