Default 5w-30 0r 10w-40 what weight do you use?

My 03 is a weekend driver and calls for 5w-30. With some mods and planning on a track visit here and there would I be better with 10-40? Have been using synthetic 5-30 ,10-40 back & forth but there is no difference in pressure. I'm not concerned with mileage. Thanks.

If you were expecting to see a difference in pressure with the OEM gauge then don't hold you're breath--it's just a dummy gauge that outputs the same reading as long as the oil pressure is more than 6 psi.

Here in Florida I run 10W-40 Valvoline synthetic blend year-round, just turned 91k miles today. It runs like a champ and does not use a drop between changes (2500 to 3000 miles).

I use 5w-30 Mobil 1 in my car and it works like a charm. I like to run a little heavier weight oil. It quiets the motor down a bit.
