Default Best set of heads.

I was looking into buying a good set of heads for my car and was leaning towards Patriot stage 2. Is that a good fit with my set up and if not what do you guys recommend? Also once I take off my heads can they be sold and if so how much is a good asking price? One last question....What should I be expecting to pay as far as labor and how much HP should I expect? Thxs guys appreciate it.

Best set of heads are the Trickflow heads BUT with your cams I think the Patriot Stage 2 heads will be a good fit. I think you could be around 300-315whp but i'm not to sure lol

Are your cams the stage 1 or stage 2 (XE270s)? If they're the 270's, I'd say go trickflow, most of the tests I've seen on those heads used those cams. As far as labor, ask a few shops, but from what I've heard some people like to pull the engine to swap heads, I guess things are a bit easier to get to. But if they pull it, it's probably gonna run some decent money.

why dont you just get your stock heads ported instead of buying stock ported heads?

I would do 1 of 3 things.

1) cheapest, but only if your car is not a daily driver. Send your heads to FoxLake for porting.

2) middle cost, if your car is a daily driver. Buy some ported heads from Foxlake.

3) most cost, if you want maximum future potential. Buy the Trickflow heads and put a different cam in them.

I recommended Foxlake, but I did not go with them because mine were done many years ago, but I have heard a lot of good things about them. There are many other good porters out there as well. MPH (modularpowerhouse) sells an outstanding set of ported PI stage 2.5 heads!

Later,
Derrick

It's still in the works. I'm on a deployment right now and got a little more money to spend. Decided to get rid of the heads and then go supercharge
