I guess I don't understand why that would be. If (like you say) my car is wired for it, why wouldn't I be able to buy the button and plug it in? Why would they put in wiring that wasn't functional? I will be trying this out this weekend so we will see if it does work or not.

for ease of production. same reason you see some cars with cutouts for dual exhaust in the rear bumper but the lower models have inserts to "plug" the other hole. cheaper to make the same bumper and plug it with an insert than to produce a different bumper.

they will wire every car the same and ones that call for foglights get the button and functionality. i do not know if you can put a button in and put foglights on then VOILA. but id say deff try it....worse to happen is it doesnt work lol

the more the assembly line has to alter the production of each car the more $$ the end up being.

example: Bentley is, i believe, a custom order car and look at that pricetag.

Why in the world would you want the traction control? It is not a performance traction control and the best form of traction control for safety is your foot.

Yeah I drive my car to work and back a few days a week. The traction control in these cars feels like all it does is dumb down the timing and engine. If you are light on the foot your wheels will not spin. Again my foot is much more effect than fords cheap traction control.

i agree with lilcrate. just become more intune with the car and you will know its limits in different situations.

plus it looks bad when you want to show off a little bit and forget to turn off TC

You aren't getting it. You will be wasting your time. It is cheaper to produce every car with all of the wiring even though in some cases it is extra wiring. So in the case of your car you will be putting a button on a wire that doesn't lead to anything. As I stated with the fog lights, the wiring may be there but if there are no fog lights then it doesn't really matter if you install the switch.
