^^^Yep, and they also make their own grinds for the mod motor. Modular Head Shop and Bullet Racing recently teamed up, and started doing this.

You should replace valve springs with any aftermarket cam regardless of what the company says. Dont half *** it, your factory valve springs where designed and toleranced to factory cam lift.

Spend 200 buck more and do it RIGHT, not on the cheap.

just my .02 but its like people who lower their car 2 inches and leave the stock shocks/struts. Its a half *** job done by people looking to cut corners.

I do agree that it's never a bad idea to change springs, but with some aftermarket cams, there really isn't a huge reason for it. If the lift is low enough, and you're not revving past 6k, you will not really be stressing the stock springs hard enough to warrent a change. Now with a poweradder (unless it's an ocassional shot of N20) i would highly reccommend it. Also, it would be more benificial if the vehicle has higher mileage too.

I just had someone use a set of Ruben racing cams for the 2V and they were regrinds with the base circle so far out he had to get lash caps to make the valves longer.

Stock springs are fine for NA motors with no more than 550 lift on the plastic intake manifold since it limits you to 7000RPM anyway. We haven't seen valve float on the dyno under this criteria. Its funny that Comp tells you to use their springs with their 550 lift cams but the springs they spec are designed for NPI heads (1.57" install height) and in the PI head at the stock 1.68" install height they have no more pressure than a stock PI spring.........................
