300 hp from a 260?
Sure, I could have searched and searched...but this is my question:
My 2000 GT 5spd Conv needs some kick. Besides, my brother in law has an 05 with 300 and I NEED to say mine is too..wanna run it?
Let's spend a few bucks and keep it looking as stock as possible!
Where do I start?

Save yourself a LOT of money and just buy a blower.
iv spent almost 10k on my GT and im just now going to be at 300 RWHP after my cam install. Granted that is including everything iv spent on the car.. but bolt ons took up about 2500-3000 of it.

If you just want to keep up with your brother in law, and want the same 300 crank hp, then just basic bolt ons will get you there. To be honest some of it's kind of a waste though. Nitrous or a blower is money better spent imo. Gears would be good regardless too. I guess it really depends on how much you want to spend.

the full boltons will give you 300 crank horsepower. granted, thats spending thousands of dollars and its really not that big of a boost.
his car is a little heavier than yours but also has 3:55 gears compared to our 3.27's so we'll say that cancels it out.
if your SOLE intention is just beat your brother in law, your cheapest option is buy a used nitrous kit and a couple small boltons (o/r midpipe and a filter just cuz i think those are bare minimums of necessity anyways) and a 50-75 shot and you should beat him.
if your on a budget, boltons ARE NOT the option you want. it will take you full boltons to beat him, and if hes a better driver than you...you may even have to change your gears out. if he has mods forget about boltons. you will need FI or motor work to beat him because boltons actually help the 3v (05 up) GT's. the 2v's dont respond worth crap to boltons. your car makes 220-225ish RWHP bone stock, full boltons you will see around 265.

Looking for someone that has gone about that far and says that much is worth it. I doubt if we would actually run 'em. This is strictly seat in the pants and bragging rights.
Car only has 24k on it.
