Default Preparing for gear install...

Ok so I decided to hold of on upgrading my brakes until summer. In the mean time I want to gather up everything to get gears installed as soon as winter is over so I can actually drive the car to the shop. I have some questions however. First of all, what gear weight of RP gear lube do I need? How much? Do I still need friction modifier as well? I see buyfordracing has the gears for 150 bucks (4.10) so I am guessing that;s most likely the cheapest place to get them? Also I am confused by all of these rebuild/install/bearing kits and crap. they range from like 30 bucks to over $130. What do I need exactly? My car only has around 50k on it and has never been down the drag strip or worn slicks. I don't want to spend a bunch of money on unused parts. I don't plan to have them rebuild the diff either as I currently have found no issues with it at all. I know most people will say I need the bearing kit but there is usually a couple different kits that include bearing but may or may not include other stuff. Looks like the install should only cost me around 300-400 bucks here.

That's the kit I bought. I also bought new axle bearings from Ford while I was at it. The RP fluid has the modifier in it already.

Looks like I will get raped up here on labor. They want 575 bucks to do the swap with me supplying all my own parts. That's coming up close to a grand to do gears.

Glad I am not the only one who thinks so. I will for sure be checking around. Everybody on here probably thinks I bitch alot about labor rates. But, there is a perfect example of how expensive **** is in Alaska. And not to mention I don't get the free shipping from anywhere. Will most likely coast me 60 bucks just to ship the gears
