Hmmmm, I thought I already posted in this thread...

I know you guys are going to freak when I say Sumitumos but they are a great summer/rain tire. Even with 315's, I was able to tackle Oklahoma rain storms. I still have my Sumi's on my black Bullets for when I drive on long road trips. Don't expect any traction with them though.

Even with 275's in the front and 315's there was zero road noise.

Bingo. If you pay attention while your driving and look for trouble spots on the road, you shouldnt have issues with these tires. Water is the same here as it is everywhere else I'm sure if these tires were THAT bad, I would have had an issue with them already through my years of DDing the car.

Exactly^^^ive had these tires for 2 years and not one issue...and they are about worn out on the wear bars. So i dont think its the tires...but the driver.

Whatever. Not gonna argue about it. My opinion, the tires suck in the rain. Your opinion, they are great in the rain. So we can agree to disagree, but the FACT is that there are better tires in the rain then the 555's. And given the OP's concern, and that he is not looking for a performance tire, there are better tires to buy for both price and performance in wet weather.

Just looked up the BFG Radial T/A's. They seem to do pretty well in the rain and they are still not a slouch of a tire either.

Hey Dime check these out I had them on my pro stars during the winter and never had any issues with them. I dont know what your looking to spend on your tires but i believe there about 200 each. They look awesome too.

I have had great luck with 555s in rain, but they suck for performance traction IMO.
