sxynerd, did you have any clearance problems when you put the new intake on or did you just get the cowl hood for looks?

and I would be looking at about $600 for everything to get the edelbrock on my car?

Another early Sn guy told me he had to cut away the fiberboard insulation right above the throttle body and plenum.

If you already have aftermarket plenum and throttle body then you will be right around $600. If you dont, you might want to look into getting that stuff too for better airflow.

You know, I've heard the argument that unless you get the Edle elbow and 90mm maf you're just cutting off the possible air flow... I however disagree with that idea.

There are lots of turbo/blower guys with 2.5" pipe with perfect setups. Unless an individual is NA, already has heads and headers, I don't think it would matter much.

It's as easy to make as it looks. Make a template and go from there. Make sure the metal is thick enough to tap and the bolts can hold securely.

I used RTV with no issues. I was going to use gasket paper but I forgot to buy more. It's held up just fine.

I used a carb gasket on the bottom and a homemade cork gasket for the plenum, and I've had no problems yet.
