Default Which Headers??????

Hey everybody! Im just about to do my pi swap on my 98, and id like to throw some headers on. I dont wanna get longtubes cuz i dont have the cash for it. any suggestions on short tubes???

Yea..Just use your stock exhaust manifolds if you are not going to do longtubes.

Yup use the manifolds or save more money and get long tubes.

+1... It has all been proven by someone of this forum recently that longtubes do not actually add power, till you go F/I .(correct me if I'm wrong) So for the most part your stock manifolds will perform just as well as longtubes do.

So basically you would be getting longtubes just for sound until you go F/I, if you ever do.

i've actually heard of people porting their stockers..not sure if it works but its an idea

Doesn't back pressure create torque? If so just keep them stock to produce better torque. But on the other hand if you did port them you would getter better flow which gives you better top end.

Ported stock headers??? I've never heard of that lol.

I dynoed my car before and after the long tubes. n/a i gained 6 rwhp & 6 rwtq, and on the nitrous 20 rwhp & 57 rwtq. Now, even though it was only 6 hp n/a, the car definantly pulled a little better, and seemed to rev out a little further before nosing over.
