Noises....make them stop!
I am nearly certain it's the idler pulley. When I am in gear and stopped at a light or something, I can hear is loud squeking and chirping noise. When I put it into N or P, the noise stops. This is the idler pulley, right? If so, how much am I looking at for a replacement one and what do I need to do to replace it? How long can i go if it is the ider pulley?

No, they start making noise when the bearings are going out. The pulley is pretty cheap, I think it's around $20. I think it's just a 1/2 ratchet to loosen the tensioner off to release the belt and then a 13MM, or 15MM socket or wrench for the idler pulley bolt.

Hmm, ok that would be nice. I would definitely be able to change it myself. I thought you had to have an air ratchet to change out pulleys? Can anyone confirm the process of changing one out or have access to any sort of writeup?

I found this one on jegs.com. This will work, eh? Also, do I need to replace a belt too?

No air tools required. It's just one bolt that holds it on, I have changed it on my mustang before.
