Default broke an intake bolt!!! what should I do?

so I was taking the intake manifold off my 4.6 bird to try and stop it from leaking and the bolt right behind the two that hold the thermostat housing on broke when I was trying to loosen it. I got the intake manifold off and I already tried to grab the remaining nub that was still sticking out with vice grips and I couldn't get it to move at all.

what should I to fix this? or should I just leaving it and worry about getting the leak fixed?

1. Try an easy out OR

2. Cut off the nub, drill out the hole and re-tap it.

How did it break, rusted, seized up or something?

I would say its that fact that the car is now going on 13 years old! it doesn't look rusted and when I tried to take it out it wouldn't move. so I tried a little harder and it snapped like a twig! the rest of the bolts came out fine with just a little force to break it loose.

^ These. An easy out should get it unless it is in there really good.

If used carefully it will dig into the screw and start unscrewing it from the threads.

easy out and hose it down with some PB blaster before you do it.

next time a bolt wont cooperate spray some PB blaster on it before you try to retard strength it.
