Default HELP!!!

SOO, i need some engine help. Driving down the road today and downshifted and heard a loudd pop, then heard my engine sputtering and miss firing. So, i stoped and popped the hood to asses the damage and realized that one of my coils or fuel injectors (the things that bolt on top of the spark plugs that are colored) was completely broken off... the bolt was still intact but was not attached to anything. I couldnt tell if the spark plug was still in the well or not (i didnt have a flash light on me) but its possible it could have blown out bc the pop was veryyy loud. Anyways, does anyone know what kind of $$ this kind of repair is going to run me if its just a broken coil or whatever the thing is called?

Sounds like you shot a plug. you can repair it with a helicoil or timesert type tool(there are a few different types).

Well is that the only thing that could cause the bolt on the cop to break?? i mean, the other day everything was perfect and i changed my plugs myself but that was over 20,000 miles ago. Would it just now back out? The spark plug wire on the cop was ripped and i just pulled it right out, however i couldnt see if the plug was still intact
