Default Fuel Injector Concern..

Alright guys, Ive did the usual searching and have learned quite a bit about injectors over the last few days. However I still I'm confused on one thing. I'm looking at 42# EV1 style fuel injectors for my 2003 GT. I was dead set on ordering 42# Ford racing injectors from American Muscle, until I read that they were only good for years between 85-95? Why is this? I don't understand why they will not fit my car. Shouldn't any EV1 style injector work in my car, or am I missing a crucial piece of information regarding injectors. If someone could please clarify this for me that would be great.

I'm not sure about those, but my Bosch 42's work great on my 04 gt.

This is what you need to make those 42lb injectors work.

Ok, now I'm really confused. I've read my car has EV1 style injectors, which then in theory should be a direct replacement for the Ford racing EV1 style or any EV1 style injector, right? The part you show me is to adapt a EV1 to an EV6 style which I'm not comparing. I don't want an adapter, I just want to find a direct OEM style 42# injector. Are there two different styles of EV1 injectors? What changes were made to the injectors from 95 that make it different than the stock EV1's that I have. Can anyone clarify this for me?

I know....I want the combo w/ the 90mm lighting MAF... That's why I want them to work for my car without having to get adapters for them. I was just saying that American Muscle says the are for yrs 85-95. That's what has me concerned.

I believe they should fit 86-04, I have them and am pretty sure I don't have an adapter.

edit: could be wrong, but I'm sure someone who knows will chime in.
EV6 is 03/04 cobra and 05-08 gt.

you need the injectors with the square shape connector, believe they are the ev1 style.
