Default SVT GT Maybe???

I found a guy who's selling a set of SVT heads off of a 96-98 Cobra for $100.
He says he also has everything else for the motor for an additional amount.

Will these heads fit my 96 GT?

Yes, but you need the timing cover, intake and a few other things.

For a deal like that, its worth it to do the 4v swap. Do a search for 4v swap on here and get all the parts. Thats a steal.

$100 for those heads isn't a crazy steal, but it's not bad. Are the heads complete?

I did a 4v swap on my 02 GT. I kept the stock shortblock and swapped the top end. You need alot of little parts.

If you want the whole list I have it somewhere. Let me know.

How much did the swap end up costing you?

thats a pretty good deal but those heads arent the best. i'd do it but see if you can find some 99+ 4v heads. you'll need the timing cover, intake, and i think you'll need to reverse the polarity of the COP's.

The idea behind me doing the 96-98 SVT heads is because I found them for $100.
He's parting the car out so anything else I need for the motor is available to me.
Different heads will set me back more than I want to go.

Would it be worth the build? Will I gain an incredible amount of power by switching these out? Or would I be going through all the work and time and money just to gain 50 horses?

Also, what parts will I need to pull off the other car?

See if you can get the motor complete from him and call it a day. Much easier.

You'll gain more than 50hp but not much. I wouldnt get into that project if doing something that involves starting out with something more than $100, look elsewhere. By the time youre done, you will be looking at spending over $1k and you could just do ported PI heads and be at the same place with a lot less work.
