Whats the difference? Looking at a 2002 saleen s281 sc, and im wondering what the differences between it and an 02 GT are other than a body kit and a blower. I'm a more of a GM guy so i don't know quite as much about the 2v 4.6 motors. Thanks guys

 

The Saleen doesn't necessarily have a blower, as mine does not, but has suspension upgrades.

Shocks, struts, springs, front sway bar are standard, but there were Extreme models with some other goodies including the blower you mentioned. Do some research over at SOEC website and will find out all you need to know.

I have a gt with the supercharger out of the 03/04 s281 sc's and it's not that great. I know the saleen comes with better suspension and brakes but if you're just driving it on the road or drag racing it, it's not that big of a deal (besides you can upgrade it yourself cheaper). I suggest you get the regular gt and upgrade from there. You can buy a kenne bell supercharger cheaper than saleen's and it outperforms it. Saleen's body kits are ugly imo and you can buy eibach suspension and brembo brakes and BAM you've got a better car than a saleen for cheaper. I'm very dissappointed with my overly priced saleen SC so don't do it...

 

Find out if its a two valve or a four valve. If its a two valve then it may only have an extra 40-50 hp over a gt, but dont forget the supsension and brake upgrades it has. Those will be nice if you drive like the rest of us massachusetts drivers lol.

 

unfortunately, all the saleen mustangs are just suped up gt's with 2v's. Only the Extreme is worth buying but is severely overpriced and i doubt thats what it is since they weren't made in 02. I'm sure he knows what he's talking about with the model but an 02 s281 sc comes with a series II SC and probably barely makes a little over 275 rwhp stock (i know cuz i have a series IV which makes about 300 rwhp stock). Waste of money...

I love the looks of saleens... but as far as power with the money u save from getting a gt you can put some $$$ into it and it will most likely be faster than the saleen

yeah i forgot to say the best part. Guy wants to trade me my 97 trans am ws6 for it. My car has a 383 stroker, so my ws6 might be a bit faster but i know the saleen is worth so much more than my car but i would feel dumb not to do it
