Default 2003 gt help

So I'm really looking at getting into putting some performance parts on my car, but I don't know where to go with it. I've heard gears and a tune are good, as well as an exhaust. I was looking at the roush body kit, but if I did that I would want a side exhaust which I don't know much about. I really want to keep my fuel economy as good as possible. Anyone have suggestions on what to do?

There ya go...

Suspension mods are great as well as stick tires. If its a 5 speed get a short throw shifter.

If you want to be fast get N20, blower, or turbo.

start with a catback and work your way out from there depending on how much work you want to do to your car.

1. Catback
2. Mid Pipe
3. Intake
4. Long Tubes
5. Chip + Tune
GEARS
6. Throttle Body + plenum + tune
7. Heads + Cams + tune
8. Super Charger
9. Breaks
10. Suspension

1. Gears+ Tuner(notice I didnt say tune) + full length subframe connectors
2. Blower + tune
3. Laugh at everyone else who wasted thousands to get 270rwhp...

270 rwhp isnt really that much though is it? The gt says it comes with 260 HP, plus my k&n intake said it added 10.07 HP. I don't know how that equates to rwhp though. What kind of exhausts are good? I was looking at the borla or the roush side exhausts, but can't find how much HP or fuel economy they add.

Stock your car is around 230 rwhp, so bolt ons will get you 30-40 rwhp.

Tune, gears, and exhaust are the best mods to start with.

What exhausts are good??? There are lots of good ones. Are you looking for a complete exhaust, or just a cat back? What type of sound do you want?

DETAILS!!!

most companys dont say a specific amount of hp that there kits will give since every car is different. no two cars alike will make the same amount of hp or tq at the wheels. as far as the k&n adding 10 hp it added that at the flywheel. expect about a 10-20% decrease in that at the wheels. as far as recomendations for mods go with a cai, full exhaust, underdrive pulleys, short throw ****er, rear gears, and whatever size wheel and tire package you want. once you do these get a tuner so you can set it up right. once those are done then you should start going with some suspension and drivetrain mods so you can put the power to the ground, dont forget to mod the brakes. after that the sky is the limit as to what you could do next.

Thanks for the informative replies. I'm really wanting a deep, powerful sound. Something that just says power, but doesn't pop when you rev and isn't annoyingly loud. I want it to still be fairly quiet fmwhile driving.
