Default UDP's worth it ?

Hey fellow Stangers, I'm trying to prioritze mods by smaller $$ 1st. My stang has mach 1000 sound. If I go w/ the Steeda UDP's will I need to upgrade alternator? I upgraded the fogs with the brightest Autozone had on the rack. Also planning on upgrading new headlights, HID, clear corners. My car is auto so I do'nt wanna have to into N, and rev at redlights at night while stopped to keep it all running. Anybody have charging issue's w/ UDP's? Should I pass on them with them mac 1000 sound and brighter lighting? Thanks, Ric

I don't have any issues with my Steeda's, but then i don't have all the extra stuff like you. As far as performance, they gave a nice small bump up in the higher revs.

Thanks Guys, I was thinking the money should go for something else. I hate to pass on any extra power but I do'nt want the Stang dying at red lights at night. Thanks Ric

What I hear ppl doing with the steedas is keeping the stock smaller pulley on the alternator and putting on the water pump and crank one. It wont slow down the alt down as much.

I just bought the steeda set and haven't installed them yet. The stangs in storage anyways

I have Steeda's UDPs and am quite pleased with the added power at WOT and higher RPMs.

Looking at your mods though I'd save up for a tuner, load a 93 octane tune, and firm up the slush-box's shift points too...

i got Ford Racing ones, the price in a store is i think 170(i don't think it's worth it), i got mine brand new from a guy for 75, so i figured it's worth the money.
they give a little power, and a nice look

i got some used steeda udps for less than half price off ebay, its worth it then imo. i dont think you would have any problems with your alternator unless you plan to idle it all the time with all your accesories on at once.

I had steedas and thought they were very safe. Never had an issue. But they will have to be taken off if you ever want a blower, other than that, why not?
