Default Dyno and 1/4 time...

I went to this shop that's right down the street from my work last night and decided to get my baby dynoed. They had a Mustang Powerdyne dyno and warned me that their numbers always read low due to proper load and street conditions that the dyno measures. They said it's more for tuning than putting up high numbers.

Temp: 64 degrees
211.1@5254 RPM HP
254.7@3839 RPM Torque

Seems to read low for me, but then they simulated a 1/4 mile run (with a tree and everything haha) and he results shocked me and them. They said their times have only been off by .2 +/-

r/t: 0.666
60': 1.708@ 35.59 MPH
330': 5.284@ 64.46 MPH
660' (1/8 mile): 8.344@ 81.08 MPH
1000': 11.004@ 92.67 MPH
1/4: 13.254@ 98.91 MPH

Hmmmm... what do you guys think? I will be running the track in a couple weeks to find out what she runs.
Also, I will post pics of the dyno pulls later tonight.

Good luck getting a 1.7 sixty foot time....are those street tires?

I'd imagine if the launch was a 2.0 or 2.1 on that dyno, the results would be easier to believe when compared to an actual timeslip. The trap speed doesn't sound off, though. You might see a low 14 second pass at best.

You're not going to 60' that low unless you have suspension/ slicks. You can prolly run high 13s

Edit: just saw it's an auto vert: I agree with above post, you will prolly run low 14s at best

I think you're in for one rude awakening, good numbers and good luck.

Yeah, I KNOW my car is not going to run a 13.2 with just gears, exhaust and a K&N. Im not a noob gentlemen. HaHa

I just wanted to know if you all have heard of the Powerdyne running weird numbers like this? A quick 1/4 mile time and low dyno numbers? \
They said if it was a dyno jet, i'd probably see 230 +/- HP and 285+/- Torque.

I'll find another dyno and run the track for sure.

You car has enough torque to do it, even if you don't have aftermarket suspension components like struts and shocks and LCAs.

Screw going to the track. I bet I could run 12.7 on that dyno. Who needs DR's and suspension?! We should do a dyno timeslip thread here!

Those numbers are right on the money for an automatic. There's a 20% parasitic loss through the drive train on cars with an automatic transmission. A 12% loss for cars with manual transmissions.
