Default Noob with some questions

I am thinking about picking up a 1996 coupe with the V6 and a five speed. I was looking at what it would cost to do the v8 swap and i see that would be spendy. So I got talking to some friends, and what would i have to do to just run a carbed V8 in it? I tried searching but couldn't find any straight answers. I have been around cars all my life and aint shy at turnin a wrench, but electronics are my weakness. So any help would be great. Thanks.

If i had 5 grand i wouldn't even bother. But well, i dont. I have a very limited budget at this time. The car i am looking at is only $300. And i already have a motor and trans. I was just wondering about what all i would need to do to run that older motor in this car. I would love to just go out and buy a V8 car but i simply cant. I dont have that kind of money. I am just looking for something thats fairly cheap and can be done as a family project. I aint looking to complete this car in a weekend. I am building it over time.

wrong section to post in. You might wanna post up on the 5.0 section because those are the style V8's youre probably going to be swapping in.

By a carburated V8, do you mean using a pushrod motor or converting a mod motor (4.6L V8) to carburated?

I don't think the conversion is difficult on a pushrod motor, but maybe someone else here can help out more with that. Or try asking the 5.0 section about a conversion of a pushrod EFI engine to carburated.
