Default Tuning Question

A couple months back I took my car to the local ford dealership because they said they would be able to reprogram my computer for the 4:10's. When I went to pick it up they told me something was preventing them from changing anything and that I needed to take it to a performance shop to get this done. They didn't charge me anything so it was cool.
I didn't think much of it since winter was coming but now I plan on buying a SCT X3 from Brenspeed in the spring so I was just wondering if this "problem" I have with my computer would cause any difficulties. Don't want to buy it and find out it doesn't work. Might I already have it tuned and the guy I bought it from never told me?

No youll be fine with the programer. The Ford software they use to reset the PCMs is just limited.
