Default failed helicoil

Anyone here know what to use on a failed helicoil on a blown sparkplug?

TIME-SERT (which should have been used in the first place) has a "BIG-SERT"kit made especially for heads that were mangled by Helicoils.

They also have a triple oversized kit they call the "...last chance repair for Ford 4.6/5.4 heads."

Helicoils suck for any "impact" load sort of application...

You can, with the usual precautions (grease the drill and tap, vacuum/blow the cylinder out when done)--but...

The kit is $300 (Amazon), the inserts are $6 to $8 each last I knew--makes a 1/4" drive torque wrench seem pretty cheap...

Perhaps, make sure they use a BIG-SERT and don't bugger up some other "solution"--BIG-SERT is the only proven fix when a Helicoil has gone bad...

I have seen every kit out there and just dropped another $500 order at Timesert. They are the only ones other than LocknStitch that I have never seen come back out. I have 6 sets of race heads here getting all 8 chambers done (I go through a ton of inserts).
