need help

i was putting a alternater on my wrench slipped and i unpluged a plug now its sputtering and backfiring the plug is on the passenger side its coming from the same line that plugs into the fan are able to help

i just went and looked at mine, the only other plug i see coming off the fan line is for the a/c. its directly in front of the passenger side coil, by the rad. its a round 4 wire plug.
