+1. The body shop should be able to match it. If it makes you feel better, my car is laser red and every body panel is a different color. My painter matched my wing EXACTLY to the trunklid and rear fenders... You'll be fine, but it might cost ya a little extra if they have the blend the fenders or something.

If that's the case, 2 tone your car

I have a gut feeling that with anything related to paint, you get what you pay for. Professional quality is going to cost. The 'guy who knows this guy who knows this guy' quality won't be expensive, but it won't look like it either.

I'm pretty much expecting a nice dent in my wallet if I do end up going through this.

Ask the painter how much it will cost if you let him do it under the table on his own time...

But then you gotta work with their schedule and its usually not when you wanna do it that they'll call and say they'll do it. Thats what happened to me over the summer and i ended up taking it to a pro body shop and just doing it that way. But with a shop, at least its going to be warranted.

As mentioned several times above, a good body shop will have no problem at all matching it. Most likely, the front fenders and maybe bumper will be blended, and they should buff out the rest of the car with compound and polish and it'll almost look like you had a complete new paint job if the existing paint on the rest of the car is in reasonable condition.
