Default Shifter Problem

i dont know if this is in the right place if not Mods move it please

I just bought another mustang (2000 GT) anyway when my dad was test driving it he noticed that the shifter wouldnt snap back into the middle, he said it felt like their was weak springs or alot of grease in the mechanism (SP). has anybody else experianced this and if so how did you fix it?

Thanks in advance

Sounds like typical stock shifter behavior, replace it with either a Steeda or MGW shifter (although any of the several aftermarket brands will be better). Most aftermarket shifters are less than $200 and it takes all of about 30 minutes to do the job.
