$1500 DIY Vortech and Sniper tune...the verdict
#23
haha, i see that now, oops. thanks. I was thinking turbo, but it would make me mod more things then i want on my current set up. I think the vortech route is "better" for my budget and car. I just want to run with the big boys, lol.

what kind of dyno did you have yours done on?

Dude, seriously datalog that **** with recon and make sure your timing isn't higher than like 12-13 degrees anywhere above 3000rpm if you're running 93 octane (for 91 octane run no more than 11). Those are good numbers for 8psi non-ic, but sometimes the base sniper tunes can have too much timing. My 10psi base tune had 18.5 degrees at 6k, which in other words means detonation.
Also, I'm glad you are adding fuel, cause 12.0 is kinda lean for a blower car. Like you said, 11.4-11.7 afr is optimum.

Check your timing tables in your tune. Specifically your Engine Coolant and Intake Air Temp Spark Modifier Tables. Tunes should be set up to pull a number of degrees of timing based on the engine coolant temp and the intake air temp. If those values are set too high, then your PCM will be pulling too much timing out resulting in a loss of power. This could definitely be the case if you went from non-intercooled and added an intercooler and the tuner forgot to reset these values.
