Default xpipe and pulleys?

i just got an 01 with slp cat back and mac cai wanted to get a few more horses. I found an o/r xpipe from pacifica performance and underdrive pulleys for $300. You guys think these are good mods?

and next i was thinking plenum and throttle body?

(i am not putting on gears until i graduate next spring just got rid of my 5.0 with 373 love the performance but need decent mpg.)

The o/r x will give you some more horses and sound amazing with the slp lms. Im not a fan of pulleys but other people will tell you there worth it so thats up to you. And when you go for the gears again go with some 4.10s! haha

Gears dont give you bad mileage. I have 4.10's and i get 26mpg on the highway and right around 20 city, which is what i got before the gears. Your right foot dictates your mileage. But do not put an o/r x pipe on a car with LM1's. That is a huge mistake and you wont like it. Buy a catted x pipe from pypes or magnaflow and you'll still be loud and maintain some civility. As far as pulleys go, I wouldnt bother. They arent going to help that much...or enough to make it worth it. Buy yourself some lowering springs instead.

I was going with the o/r basically because of the price i figured eventually i would add hi flow cats and since the xpipe is a two piece design it would be easy. why would it be a mistake though? I was just reading a few different mustang magazines and for $100 5 rwhp and torque isnt bad.

As for springs i have h&r race springs and mach1 rear shocks already and will be getting tokico dspec struts in the next couple months then it will go on as soon as this semester is over. just looking for advice for power right now suspension is a whole different matter.

thanks for the input any one else?

Just buy the catted, its a lot less hastle and less money involved than having cats added after the fact. And the pulleys wont add 5hp. And even still, 5hp isnt noticeable. I'd put that money into the gears and get yourself a set of whatever gear ratio you like. You'll actually feel those. You will not be able to stand the sound of your car with LM1's and an o/r x pipe...and neither will anyone else that is in the same town as you.

You keep saying he isn't going to like the sound, do you personally know him?

Some people love incrediblely loud and obnoxious, you obviously don't, but who cares.

what teej is trying to say is that the o/r pipe with lm1's are a recipe for pissing off the neighbors, police, and anyone around you. They are friggin crazy loud.
Me personally, I love it that way. You may or may not.

But if you buy a catted x to begin with you, the sound will not attract as much attention.

Might as well not even waste your money on a midpipe if you are going to go catted.

IMO.
